Who writes this

A parent in New Mexico, going through these programs for their own child.

That is the whole qualification, and it cuts both ways. It means the pages are ordered the way you actually hit this stuff rather than the way an agency files it, and that the parts nobody warns you about get their own headings. It also means I am not a case manager, a consultant, an attorney, or a state employee, and I have no special access to your file.

Mi Via means "my path." Tu-Via means "your path," which is the point: the programs are supposed to bend around your child's life, and you cannot make that happen if the paperwork is opaque.

Where the information comes from

Program facts here are drawn from the New Mexico Health Care Authority's own published pages for DDSD, the DD Waiver, and Mi Via, plus the service standards and forms those pages link to. Every page links back to the official source, so you can check me and so you have a document to cite.

State documents are not reproduced here. They get revised, sometimes several times a year, and a stale copy is worse than a link.

The resources page records when each outside link was last checked. Links are re-tested automatically every week, because a state reorganization can quietly break every bookmark a family has: DDSD moving from the Department of Health to the Health Care Authority did exactly that.

How Tu-Via is organized

Being straight about this, because families in this system get pitched at a lot.

Right now Tu-Via is a project, not yet an incorporated organization. The plan is two entities: a nonprofit to carry the free information and family-support side, and an LLC for anything commercial that grows out of it. Which work sits on which side, and how the two relate, is still being worked out with proper advice.

Until that is settled and filed:

• Tu-Via is not a registered charity, and nothing here is a tax-deductible donation.
• No money is being asked for. There is nothing to buy, subscribe to, or sign up for.
• No provider agency, case management agency, or consultant agency pays to appear on this site, and none ever will. If that changes for any part of the site, it will be labeled on the page where it appears.

This page gets updated when the structure is filed, not before.

Who builds and hosts it

The site is built and hosted by Studio Balke (opens an outside website), a New Mexico software studio. Studio Balke handles the engineering, the server, and the security so the content side can stay focused on being accurate and readable.
